We are looking for someone with a medical writing background, but who is confident with both medical education and promotional materials.
• Ability to act as the editorial and scientific point of contact for multiple accounts in a variety of therapy areas
• Lead a variety of projects from client brief through to delivery on time and within budget
• Deliver high-quality educational and creative promotional materials
• Ensure materials are adapted to the briefed target audience
• Provide in-house editorial review of work undertaken by freelancers and junior writers
• Liaise directly with clients to fulfil their communication and marketing objectives
• Participate in client teleconferences and meetings as required
• Participate in the cross checking of editorial work written by other members of the writing team
• Support in winning new business through pitch research and presentation
• Taking the lead where appropriate in scientific and creative discussions around content
• Independently research and write sales aids, leave pieces, advertisements and training materials for pharmaceutical and device clients
• Ability to work on materials delivered via digital communications platforms in conjunction with the digital part of the business (idetails, apps, web copy)
Essential skills and experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Previous experience of medical writing within an agency environment
• Able to seek out, critically appraise and appropriately cite published information
• Sound understanding of scientific/pharmacologic principles and mechanisms of action
• Experience writing web copy and promotional materials for pharmaceutical clients
• Sound knowledge of the codes of practice for the pharmaceutical industry
• Relevant Life Sciences qualification
