Our client is a leading independent and family owned Pharmaceutical organisation within Dermatology and Critical Care. They maintain a strong focus on developing, manufacturing and marketing safe and efficacious drugs for treating psoriasis and other skin diseases as well as thromboembolic disorders. This newly created role is indicative of the period of growth that the client is experiencing.


Drive and support the development and implementation of External Affairs/ Communication strategy and tactical plans with internal and external stakeholders in relation to healthcare policy, Company Pharma patient solutions and corporate profile to drive improved patient access and outcomes and maximise potential for the business.

Specific functions performed include co-ordinating and implementation across the North Europe; Australia and New Zealand of External Affairs plan and stakeholder engagement to drive Company goals.

External Affairs – Develop and implementation of External Affairs/ Government Affairs strategic plan, for UK/ Nordics/Auz/NZ Cluster to support delivery of Company strategic goals and brand objectives.

Brand Communications - Support development of External Affairs strategic components supporting brand plans with Dermatology and Thrombosis teams across the cluster.

Public/Media Relations – Support PR activities to improve the external environment for positive uptake of key communications messages.

Corporate communications - Position Company as a trusted patient-focused partner and leader in its speciality areas inside and outside the company in line with the vision, mission and values in all communications.

Graduate as the minimum entry requirement in a relevant degree in communications, journalism, public relations or Life science.


• A record of employment within the pharmaceutical/ healthcare industry/ patient charity sector (preferably within a Public/External Affairs role)
• Excellent communication skills, written, oral & presentation
• Proven track record of driving change and innovation
• Experience of developing and implementing External Affairs strategy, preferably at European and/or global level
