About the department
You have the opportunity to join the Communications team in Gatwick, West Sussex. You will be a part of a team covering a whole palette of communications tasks from stakeholder and brand media relations, to social media and issues management for our diabetes brands. In close collaboration with other internal stakeholders our goal is to deliver impactful communication strategies and tactics across Novo Nordisk to change diabetes and make a difference for patients.

The Job
In this role you will have responsibility for the development and execution of communications strategies and tactics to support growth of the Novo Nordisk GLP-1 portfolio whilst raising awareness of how Novo Nordisk is changing diabetes and improving patient care through relevant projects and programmes.

You will develop the annual brand media engagement plan leveraging the publication plan and national congresses to ensure strong brand presence in the media. Protecting and strengthening the Novo Nordisk reputation as a leader in diabetes care through active dialogue with relevant stakeholders in the UK and Ireland.

You will need to proactively identify any potential business threats and opportunities relating to your brands and develop corresponding issues management and communication plans. Liaising with colleagues and the global communications team to effectively handle any issues relating to the GLP-1 portfolio.

Cross functional working is the key to success in this role and you will need to work on a daily basis with marketing, market access and medical to develop a steady flow of stories, imagery and messages to strengthen the profile of your brands and ensure internal belief and motivation to achieve and exceed our brand targets is high. Also ensuring alignment of communications across all aspects of product launches you are involved in.

The preferred candidate will have a degree within communications or journalism and documented experience as a professional communicator working on external and internal communications.

You have solid healthcare and/or corporate understanding, from an in house role preferably from working in a pharmaceutical organisation on prescription only medicines.

You will have proven experience in media relations, issues management, copy writing and editing, managing website content and social media.

You will be professional and dedicated and will thrive in a creative and challenging environment. You have excellent collaboration skills, and in your mind no assignment is too big or too small for you to take on. You will need to have experience and be confident giving formal presentations to audiences of varying sizes.

Knowledge of Diabetes or injectable therapies would be advantageous.

At times both domestic and international travel may be required so you must be willing to travel and have a valid UK driving licence. Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory.
