The Department
The Market Access and Public Affairs department incorporates experts in Health Economics, Patient Outcomes, Market Access, Communications and Public Affairs. The UK is often the first to launch new products globally or regionally within Europe and the department has a key role to play, with a proven track record in successful product launches. Working in an innovative operating model, this role will work closely with senior stakeholders within the business to ensure effective internal and external communications that strengthen our reputation and corporate brand.

The Job
A vacancy has arisen in the Corporate Affairs team for a Senior Corporate Communications Manager. This role will report directly to the Head of Corporate Affairs with a dotted line into the business area Corporate Vice President.

The role has a diverse remit in which you will lead on corporate communications and branding, issues and reputation management, change management and employee & leadership comms.You will achieve this by working closely with our UK & Ireland executive management team, the wider Public Affairs and Communications team, people managers across the business area as well as global colleagues working in Communications and Changing Diabetes.

You will have solid issues management and media relations experience with both a good network of media contacts and the confidence and ability to be the key contact person at Novo Nordisk on everything related to the media. You should also have both the experience and personal impact in order to train and influence senior management on appropriate media, crises and issues management responses

As lead for our cross-functional changing diabetes strategy and programmes you will drive the development, implementation and measurement of our changing diabetes plan.

As well as representing the business externally you will develop and implement an employee and leadership communications strategy to broaden awareness of the corporate strategy and showcase milestones and our mission; the aim of this being to strengthen employee engagement and retention through planning Town Hall meetings, managing our intranet site (Globeshare), and preparing written communications, presentations and speeches for the Corporate Vice President and Executive Management Team.

You will be experienced in using multi-communication channel, with a keen interest in social media.

Therefore you must be willing to not only drive strategy and development of plans but also deliver the tactics, develop messaging and write copy. You will have a degree in life-sciences, public relations or journalism with previous experience in an in-house communications role. Agency experience on top of this would be preferred.

You will have a strong track record in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry inissues and crisis management, media relations, strategic communications planning and internal communications. A good working knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice is a must and experience as a second signatory would be advantageous.

You will have excellent project management, influencing, networking and stakeholder management skills
You will have excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communications skills with the ability to adapt messaging dependent on your audience.

We are looking for a pro-active self-starter that is highly organised with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The incumbent will need to be confident in decision making in order to manage media enquiries and issues that may appear at short notice and require prompt decisions.

Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory and you must have a valid UK driving licence. Travelling internationally will also be part of the role so you must be able to accommodate these requirements.
