A great opportunity to join an independent pharma and healthcare communications agency as an Account Director.  Based in Cheshire, they cover a broad range of therapy areas and provide a full portfolio of services.

They are seeking an experienced account handler to deliver revenues for assigned accounts through effective internal teamwork: on time, on budget and to meet client needs.  You will provide strategic and commercial direction to the account team and deliver organic business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the delivery of all live projects within the assigned accounts to agreed financial ratios and in line with project specifications
  • Take overall responsibility for client negotiations, agreeing terms, conditions and contracts
  • Liaise appropriately with all relevant departments, providing information that may assist them in their day-to-day work
  • Oversee and drive the day-to-day project management of all live projects within accounts
  • Develop account teams to reach full potential both personally and for the benefit of the business
  • Build and sustain long-term influential business relationships with client teams and wider company contacts
  • Identify opportunities within the client franchise and company and forward any leads to the Business Development Director

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Educated to degree level (preferably in a science)
  • Experience in a healthcare communications agency essential
  • Understanding of the drug development and communication process
  • Broad range of therapeutic knowledge
  • Proficient in account planning
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to apply knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing and medical communications
  • Sound financial and commercial acumen to ensure programmes are delivered profitably
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Able to coach and mentor other team members
  • Ability to apply the principles of negotiation in relevant situations
