SSR is working on a fantastic new opportunity for a Business Development Director to join a dynamic pharma and biotec market research consultancy in central London.

The primary focus of this role will be to expand the agency’s business footprint within the pharma, biotech and devices industries.

Working closely and reporting to the CEO, you will develop a strong rapport with clients, and work to deliver sales & account targets. You will also work closely with a team of Account Directors, coordinating BD efforts and targeting of clients to maximize expansion and development of new clients / accounts, develop a strategy that will help strengthen the client base, increase average job size, win research programs and build a sales pipeline to help facilitate growth.


Key Responsibilities:
• Win new business from new clients
• Deliver growth in revenue across all services
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
• Partner with clients/customers to understand their needs and objectives
• Participate in pricing the solution/service and help increase our average order size
• Plan approaches and lead or support pitches. Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives


Key Skills:
• Proven self-starter, commercially focused, detail-oriented and highly motivated
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets
• Proactive in seeking new business opportunities attending face to face meetings, developing new client relationships and creating proposals and estimates and ultimately winning business
• Talented presenter
• Very strong knowledge of the pharma industry and able to generate new business fast
• Strong pharma / biotech network of potential leads
• Solid understanding of creative services
• Strong influencing and negotiating skills
