Our Client, a highly regarded healthcare advertising agency, part of a global network is looking to recruit an experienced Medical Editor to join their small editorial team to further strengthen their experience.

Perhaps you've gained experience within medical publishing and would like to explore a more creative environment or you've already worked within a medical education editorial team and would like a change.

The bit about you

You will be passionate about editing and proofreading and take pride in always providing work of exceptional quality. You will become a role model who champions editorial team processes and standards. With a strong eye for detail, you will ensure consistency between relevant documents. As a brand guardian, you will ensure documents adhere consistently to the required style and use your initiative to highlight areas where there is a need for greater clarity.

A natural communicator, you will liaise frequently with the studio and copywriters to ensure messaging, materials and complex figures adhere to style and correct meaning. You will be someone who enjoys working collaboratively and will also be a firm believer in the importance of making work fun!


Key responsibilities

Editorial
• Provide impeccable editing and proofreading services at all times
• Be a brand guardian championing style, grammar and sense across multiple brands
• Excellent written English (vocabulary and grammar) and attention to detail
• Able to edit and proofread across a broad variety of materials and formats including detail aids (printed and digital), leave pieces, mailers, websites, training materials, PDFs, Word & PowerPoint documents etc.
• Provide clear, concise direction/marks ups at internal sign-off
• Comfortable understanding core claims and references and able to perform data checks, or create reference packs.
• Good knowledge of common regulations surrounding medical communications (e.g. ABPI code of practice) and the process of medical approval.


Skills & Experience
• Bioscience graduate and understanding who is able to use scientific knowledge to edit and proofread material to a high standard.
• Strong background in editing and proofreading of the highest quality.
• Healthcare communication experience desirable with editorial experience across different therapy areas and projects.
• Ability to data check claims and documents
• Proficient in Adobe software
