I am working with a growing Patient Communications team who are looking for an experienced Account Director to lead delivery of an exciting portfolio of client accounts. This role will be accountable for effective delivery of a range of Medical Communications and Patient Support programmes, taking responsibility for day to day programme execution, client relationships, financial and timeline management.

Responsibilities:
· Take overall responsibility and accountability for the direction, delivery and financial growth and management of a portfolio
· of medical communications and patient support client accounts, leading your account team to achieve these goals
· Provide strategic counsel and guidance to clients, cultivating strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and assisting them to achieve their goals through the proposal and development of high quality communications solutions
· Provide strategic direction on allocated accounts encompassing all aspects of program / project development using knowledge of market issues, company and strategic project objectives.
· Work closely with project management team to ensure the delivery of agreed solution and take overall responsibility for the quality of deliverables and outputs ensuring client satisfaction
· Contribute to accounts’ new business development targets and develop targeted action plans to grow existing business and identify new business opportunities
· Participate in proposal development and sales / proposal presentations
· Identify opportunities for business growth through new product development as well as market share, leading on the full marketing mix - product, price, placement and promotion

Requirements:
· Relevant bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years relevant experience within the pharmaceutical industry or agency environment with 2 year’s supervisory experience
· Good knowledge of all aspects of Pharmaceutical communications / marketing
· Demonstrable leadership and influencing skills of peers, business partners, clients and associates
· Experience working in a highly matrixed organization: leading or participating in delivering complex initiatives.
· Ability to work creatively in a fast paced environment maintaining flexibility and changing priorities to meet demanding timelines.
· Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Strong finance skills with some understanding of project P&L management.
