We are looking for an experienced Scientific Engagement Director to join our fast-growing Healthcare Communications team. We are eager to find somebody who is passionate about creating unforgettable interactions and experiences for product brands and patients to increase education and change mindsets

What will you be doing
• Provide oversight and management of scientific engagement services across all accounts within the Healthcare Communications division and the wider agency
• Hold overall responsibility for all scientific/medical content generated within the team, acting as a final signatory
• Develop excellent relationships with cross-functional client stakeholders quickly, by demonstrating scientific credibility and utility as a strategic partner
• Develop a thorough knowledge of TCEG products and services and how they will meet client needs. Generate potential new business leads for other internal departments by cross-selling to existing clients, where applicable
• Act as an internal scientific consultant to other departments within TCEG, providing insight and expertise that can supplement existing internal capabilities, and bring added scientific credibility to our work
• Adhere to all relevant industry guidelines and provide guidance to internal personnel on compliance-related matters
• Adhere to TCEG’s Business Code of Conduct and comply with all regulatory company policies and procedures
• Be responsible for managing and implementing TCEG’s conflict of interest policy and process
• Identify and provide training to other members of the WRG Healthcare Communications team, as required
• Participate and support the culture of TCEG
• Ensure our commitment to delivering the highest quality in all our projects, exceeding customer expectation and continually improving and innovating our service so that we deliver our sustainability commitment
• Direct the Scientific Engagement Team to ensure commercial and medical communication projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality control and client service
• Plan and manage resource across the Scientific Engagement Team, delegating to other members of the team and utilising freelance resource where necessary
• Write, support and/or manage the delivery of defined activities
• Final signatory for all content before distribution to clients
• Work alongside the Healthcare Communications Client Services counterparts to provide clients with innovative and multichannel healthcare communications solutions
• Monitor commercial market and therapeutic landscape relevant to our clients and their products, and provide insight/updates/interpretation to internal team members and to our clients as appropriate
• Keep up to date with industry best practice and regulations applicable to WRG and our clients
• Demonstrate a commitment to share information and insight on your accounts across other teams and departments within the business
• Develop excellent relationships with cross-functional client team members, attaining a position as a strategic partner
• Develop positive relationships with key clients and external experts
• Work alongside Client Services and contribute to annual account planning and financial forecasting
• Provide input, review and sign-off client budgets and timelines
• Give constructive feedback and suggestions to other team members, fostering an environment of open collaboration and team work

What you need to have
• Educated to Master’s degree level in a biomedical science
• Medical writing experience in a global medical communications agency (minimum 6 years), with at least 1 year in a similar position
• Proven ability to provide scientific and commercial insights across multiple therapy areas (including rare diseases) and sectors within the pharmaceutical industry
• Proven experience in delivering high-quality materials across the full spectrum of healthcare communications activities
• Previous pivotal roles in new business development, including proposal development and pitching
• Ability to act authoritatively and effectively across medical and commercial functions, interacting with high-level senior clients and experts
• History of leading scientific delivery teams effectively, including resourcing, quality control and scientific/commercial accuracy
• Line management experience
• Strong project management and organisation skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• High level of IT competence, including Microsoft Office
