The role:

In this newly-created role, you will have the flexibility to mould and shape the extent of your responsibilities, working within the senior management team to match your experience and skills with their aspirations. Taking overall responsibility for editorial outputs across all clients, you will guide editorial staff to ensure they are producing exceptional results time and time again. You will therefore need to have an impressive strategic insight into what the clients are hoping to achieve, applying your knowledge of their products and therapy areas – plus emerging sector trends – to everything that leaves the agency and giving it the wow factor. Developing scientific, commercial and strategic projects, your compliance know-how will ensure the editorial department never strays from the right path. Building and shaping the team, you will be entrusted with both recruitment and retention, making sure the considerable skills within your ranks are being fully developed and utilised, and are tied-in with longer-term business objectives. You will also play a crucial role in pitches, bringing your expertise to the table to shape and refine what is being offered to prospective clients.

You’ll need:
• Considerable agency experience in which you developed a broad remit of editorial projects.
• Good client-servicing skills with the communication capabilities required to charm clients.
• Blow-your-socks-off writing and editing skills, supported by a comprehensive knowledge of regulatory guidelines and
compliance issues.
• To be commercially astute, with the capacity to support pitches.
• Outstanding leadership and people management skills – if your team love you, they’ll produce great results.
• A BSc/MSc/PhD level qualification, or equivalent.
• To be ultra-organised – with a passion for hitting deadlines and exceeding targets.
