Our client is a boutique medical communications agency based in Hertfordshire. They are seeking a Senior Project Manager (SPM) to join their team to help the day-to-date management of the project team.

The Senior Project Manager is a blended role which combines project management and medical writing.  As an SPM you will responsible for routine client liaison and may work as part of a larger team on bigger accounts or more autonomously on smaller projects.

Our client work on both CME and non-CME communications projects in the UK, Europe and the US. They create and develop materials both in print and digital formats including product launch materials, patient packs, slide decks, MSL materials, promotional materials and some publications work. After initial briefing the SPM will be expected to take the lead in delivering a range of projects.

In addition to a very competitive salary, you can expect 23 days holiday rising to 28, good pension, bonus and more. Their office is close to public transport links and there is onsite parking.

Responsibilities:

  • Brief and manage more junior team members
  • Content and materials development that meets their client’s strategic goals
  • Developing and maintaining timelines with the Account Team
  • Ensuring there are appropriate client updates and lead routine client update calls
  • Liaison on specific projects with suppliers – notably design, digital and print
  • Working with the Account Team to monitor project spend and to highlight any potential issues to the Project Director
  • Faculty liaison where appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with ABPI-PMCPA and other codes (e.g. ACCME, EFPIA) as appropriate for individual projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Life science degree
  • Experience in writing and reviewing a range of pharmaceutical educational and marketing materials
  • Good therapy area knowledge ideally including gastroenterology, hepatology, neurology, diabetes or oncology
  • Experience of line managing or mentoring
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Good team player
  • Available for some travel

There is plenty of scope for professional development in this role; you will be supported and encouraged to develop the skills to allow you to take further client responsibilities and progress to the Associate Project Director level.
