Scientific Communications Director - Oncology – In House Pharma
UK or Switzerland

Working with world’s top pharmaceutical companies, this is a position where your ambition will be welcomed with open arms. Working on a worldwide scale, they have 94,000 employees collaborating across 100 countries to address unmet medical needs and make a difference. That’s a lot of people working together to achieve healthcare solutions that are quite frankly amazing. And important. And life-changing. And you could be at the heart of communicating that work to an international audience. With the option to work in either the UK or Switzerland, this is an organisation that puts its employees first. Every mod-con has been thought of to make your working day that little bit more special – from on-site coffee shops to in-house gyms – you will also receive a generous benefits package that includes the option to buy company shares at a 20% discount. Innovation, curiosity and diversity are important in this team, so if you’ve got what it takes to find the answer to a challenge – and then reimagine it to be even more brilliant, then this is the role for you.

The role:
Taking responsibility for medical communications that are designed to deliver stand-out education and information to physicians, patients and society, this is a unique role that will take your career to the next level. This organisation isn’t looking for someone who will do as they’re told – they’re looking for an innovator who is brave enough to push the boundaries of knowledge in the oncology therapy arena. Taking responsibility for their latest breakthrough in Oncology – you will lead their medical strategy. As a senior member of the Global Medical Affairs team, you will devise and implement the medical strategy, addressing key audiences such as Therapeutic Area Experts to ensure the potential of their developments are realised on a worldwide scale. This challenge will include ensuring the right message is delivered to publications, and being at the forefront of delivering internal and external medical education. You will also support the US Medical Affairs team with your strategic knowledge, bringing consistency to their messages, and doing your bit to support every man, woman and child who is diagnosed with cancer.

You’ll need:
• A strong scientific background – ideally supported a Pharmacy degree, MD or even PhD qualification.
• Oncology experience would be an added bonus.
• A background in medical affairs, clinical development or medical communications. You will also ideally have some knowledge
of preclinical/clinical research.
• The capacity to work with stakeholders, interpreting their needs into knockout results.
• Experience of the wonderful world of matrix environments, with shared accountability and responsibilities. Which loosely
translates to amazing team-player skills with the capacity to support your colleagues.
• To know your way around developing and creating publication plans.
• Product marketing experience would be preferred.
• Blow-their-socks-off project management know-how.
