This is an exciting opportunity to join an international medical communications agency in a leadership position. Our client is looking to appoint an experienced candidate as Vice President, Client Services to direct and manage the team from their Oxfordshire or Cheshire based offices.

As part of the management team, you will provide strategic, commercial and marketing direction so that both client and company objectives are met. This is a pivotal role, which involves developing long-term, effective client business relationships, delivering business growth across a portfolio of products and clients and overseeing recruitment to ensure the team is resourced in line with business demands. Internally, you will forge relationships across company divisions and departments to facilitate harmonious team working and champion best practices, as well as determining and cultivating the agency’s values and culture.

You will have the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of client accounts including medical devises, medical affairs and publications with therapy areas including cardiology, cardiovascular and diabetes.

  • Build and develop long lasting client relationships
  • Lead discussions on marketing strategy/ product positioning
  • Provide direction for scientific content
  • Propose and direct delivery of innovative programmes that meet client needs
  • Supporting the team with issue handling – directly with client if required
  • Appraisals and objective setting for team; coaching, training and developing staff
  • Lead business development within the agency
  • Responsibility for delivery of revenue targets, including achievement of business-wide targets and profitability
  • Forecast business effectively to enable proactive management of your team and external resources

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Life science degree
  • Relevant commercial and operational experience ideally gained within a medical communications agency
  • The ability to lead discussion on marketing strategy, product positioning, and influence direction and content for brands at all stages of their lifecycle
  • Senior leader, motivator, and high level networker
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Confident and decisive, determined and committed
  • Clarity and sound judgement
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills
