Medical / Scientific Director – Medical Education

Medical / Scientific Director – Medical Education
Flexible Location

If you’re a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company and you want to communicate a key message to a targeted audience, the chances are this innovative MedEd group will be on your radar. In fact, they won’t just be on your radar, they’ll be on your speed dial. They work with all of the top 20 pharma agencies, plus plenty of smaller biotech companies who are making waves in their respective fields. And with more than two thirds of their clients having been a customer for more than 5 years, they’re clearly top notch at what they do. So we’ve established that they’re hugely successful, but are they nice? And will they make you feel all warm, fuzzy and loved? Yes and yes again. They’re ace – and you’ll have a flipping marvellous time if you join this bunch.

The role:
With the capacity to absorb complex information and then translate it into a language that is relevant to a variety of audiences, you will fly in this role if you are truly passionate about conveying the most-cutting edge developments to a wealth of clients. As a key member of the Scientific Services department, you will therefore manage a medical writing team, allocating resources and ensuring their outputs are downright brilliant. And if they’re not coming up to scratch, you’ll knock them into shape (not literally – words, not fists are your friends here). Developing the team’s skills, you will see to it that they have all the guidance they need to become spectacularly great writers. Just like you. Whether you’re writing to a brief or supporting the development of new business by contributing your strategic/scientific input to a pitch, you will ensure every writing and editing task is completed on time, within budget – and that it exceeds absolutely everyone’s expectations. Including yours. Because you are just so darned good at this medical writing malarkey.

You will:
• Bring excellent writing and editing skills to the team. Knockout in fact. And you’ll be able to apply these to a huge variety of
materials.
• Have experience of developing communications and scientific strategies to be incorporated into written materials.
• Be super clever with good science know-how – if you can prove this with evidence of a higher degree in a scientific subject,
that would be nice.
• Have a good knowledge of a number of therapy areas.
• Be able to talk with confidence about scientific matters with clients and colleagues – so you’ll need to have great
communication skills too.
• Enjoy coaching and leading junior colleagues.
• Be ultra-organised with great project management skills.
