Business Unit Director – Medical Education
Potential for equity

Love medical education and all that it stands for? Fancy working for a really well-respected bunch of folk who have such a loyal client-base, that many of their clients have been with them for over a decade? And want to have masses of fun in the process? Of course you do! So let’s get to the good stuff. Our client only works with ethical pharmaceutical companies – the type of pharma gurus who are doing brilliant stuff. And in turn, these organisations need genuinely fantastic integrated MedEd solutions and communications, delivered by people who know their subject matters inside out, back-to-front. Understandably, they’re 100% trusted in their field, and they’re well-connected too, with a string of market access, patient programme and PR specialists at their fingertips. Now here’s the really nice thing. While they’re hugely successful, they’ve thrown their energies into maintaining a small dynamic team of absolutely brilliant people – so there are no layers of management, no bureaucracy and no office politics to deal with here. Just a really great team who are producing exceptional work. Sounds rather idyllic doesn’t it?

The role
At the helm of a team who are creating compelling traditional and digital MedEd programmes, you’ll see to it that your clients remain a cut above the competition. You will be running your own P&L with full autonomy. Advising them on the right medical education strategies to enhance and support their brands, you’ll be their trusted advisor and their go-to person for industry-leading advice. That might mean you’ll suggest anything from advisory boards and consensus meetings to webinars and webcasts – or whatever tickles your fancy. One thing’s for sure – whatever you suggest, it will be well-considered, with the right resources lined up and ready to go. Leading your team to achieve great results (which will be a cinch, because they’re also fab and they genuinely love their jobs) you will see to it that all programmes are being implemented without a glitch. And while a crystal ball would undoubtedly be useful for that part of the role, it’s possibly more realistic that you’ll just be a seasoned industry pro who loves solving problems and bringing the right people together to create a sprinkle of magic.

You will:
• Be tip-top at strategic account planning within Medical Education.
• Have plenty of client-facing experience – so you will also be a negotiator, influencer and all-round nice guy/gal.
• Be a leader, an inspirer and a motivator. Someone who has oodles of gravitas, and who can develop the team and help them
find their wings.
• Be ready to support other programme directors at the drop of a hat.
• Have a sixth sense for new business. Whether you’re growing organic opportunities or hunting down new business, you’ll
have what it takes to seal the deal.
• Be commercially and financially astute.
