The successful candidate will report directly to the Communications Lead and be central to developing and delivering the internal communication strategy for the business. Stand-out candidates will be experts in working with cross-functional teams, to create and oversee innovative, multi-channel communications strategies that align across the company’s strategic priorities, support critical business needs, and enhance corporate reputation with external, as well as internal stakeholders. Key responsibilities:

• Develop and execute an internal communications strategy aimed at building brand recognition and awareness, enhancing the business’ visibility and reputation as a leading market player and employer of choice
• Produce content designed to attract prospective employees and establish the business as a place where industry professionals can lead a fulfilling and successful career.
• Provide communications support to the Communication Lead as necessary.
• Provide support and counsel to the network of independent partners (IACs) while assuring alignment, coordination and connectivity across Europe, Canada and Emerging Markets.
• Drive engagement with best practice processes and continued professional development by creating a collaborative environment and working closely with the IAC community to coordinate activities that deliver corporate tactics, tools and programmes for local use.
• Engage employees and motivate / educate them through meaningful internal communications platforms as appropriate. This could include change management strategies supporting internal projects and working in collaboration with HR Lead to ensure employee engagement strategy is maintained.
• Develop and analyse metrics to ensure operational excellence, creation of value and delivery of impactful, compliant and measurable results.
• Appoint and manage agencies, sub-contractors and third-party suppliers effectively to produce high-quality results, on time and cost-effectively.
• Monitor contemporary practices and any advances in communications in order to introduce new ideas and creative concepts to the business.
• Ensure all activities are ethical and compliant. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the relevant Codes of Practice (e.g. ABPI, EFPIA) and industry regulations. Develop and successfully champion the uptake of key communications guidelines and standard operating processes (SOPs), as required.

Requisite Skills and Experience:

• Experience of using multiple communications channels with good command of digital platforms.
• Experience of internal and change communications.
• Ability to lead by influence, not authority, at all levels of the organisation and to align others to your way of thinking. Experience of working within a matrix structure, able to engage and forge relationships internally and externally.
• High emotional intelligence with the ability to adapt accordingly when experiencing different cultures, personalities or backgrounds
• Sound understanding of the governance and compliance principles of communications and public relations activities for pharmaceutical companies
• Excellent English writing and oral communication skills
• Attention to detail, analytical skills and a creative approach to problem solving
• Desire for operational excellence and striving for efficiency, as well as continuous evaluation and improvement.
• Strong organisational management skills including time management, workload prioritization, multi-tasking coupled with sharp business acumen
• Educated to degree level (science qualification, journalism, communications/PR); higher qualification a plus.
