A thriving healthcare communications agency in Buckinghamshire is seeking an Editorial Team Lead to join and oversee their editorial team.

Our client is a growing company with a focus on medical educational materials for pharmaceutical clients. They work across a variety of disease and therapy areas, and pride themselves on producing high quality materials of excellent standards. As Editorial Team Lead you’ll be overseeing a team of about 10 writers and editors, ensuring that tasks are effectively delegated, and maximising team skills and resources.

- Content development of medical education materials, including: slide decks, patient and HCP materials, websites, webinars and meeting materials to industry standards and good publication practices
- Overall responsibility for development process, review, approval and adherence to timelines and quality standards; ensure all materials are written to the highest scientific standards, including clear presentation, data accuracy, clarity and consistency of language, and appropriate for the intended audience and adhere to client ‘style’
- Ensure that appropriate training programmes are in place to maintain current knowledge, induct team members and produce materials of consistent quality
- Liaise and oversee work of freelancers, maintaining a list of freelancers of interest and to delegate work evenly across the team
- Keep an eye on editorial hours for billing, including freelancers and the contribution of the editorial team to client projects

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

- Life science degree, preferably higher degree
- Significant experience of writing a range of medical education and communications materials in a pharmaceutical marketing environment
- Experience of managing or mentoring more junior writers
- Experience in reviewing other’s work and providing constructive feedback and direction
- Excellent presentation and communications skills
